I Want to Work for Diddy: Poprah Fired?!

Did Poprah get herself eliminated!? That was by far the most entertaining hour of Diddy I've seen since Fred and Ness went at it back in the 1st season of "MTB!"

So, the final four are tasked with organizing a party for a new Bad Boy artist. They're a mess. They're obviously nervous, anxious and I had butterflies in my stomach just watching them. Poprah and Mike had a small advantage over the other two just because Diddy remembered their names. That wasn't much to go on.

Anyway, Poprah's one task was to finalize the guest list for the event. Oh, and she also had to walk Diddy's dog. LOL. The others went running with him, so Poprah got off a little easy there. Anyway, hours later when Diddy requests the final list ... again, Poprah still doesn't have it, and instead of answering his yes-or-no question, she gets a bit of an attitude -- despite her calling him "sir," and he lets her know, "You're not ready to work for Diddy."

Of course, that's when the episode ends. Good ol' cliffhangers ... gotta love 'em. LOL.

So, do you think Poprah's really gone for good? It seems hard to believe. Honestly, she seems like the most qualified of the group. That's not saying too much for Mike, Susan and "What's your name?"

The Hills: The Problem With the Pratts

What the heck is wrong with Spencer? He's a bit more welcoming to Heidi's mother than he was to her sister, but he still has that plastered on I-really-wish-you-weren't-here smile on his face. It turns out that Heidi's mom didn't even know her daughter had reconciled with Spencer. So mom decides it's a good idea to have a one-on-one lunch with Spencer. Why anyone would want to do that to themselves is beyond me.

In the end, Heidi's mom is so bothered by Spencer and his "control" over Heidi that she breaks down into tears. If that doesn't nudge you, what will?

Speaking of Pratts, Stephanie learned a harsh lesson. She went behind LC's back to date Doug, who threw her under the bus the first chance he got. I haven't seen such betrayal since ... last week! So, she ends up in tears, and LC supports her as much as she can without thinking, "That's what you get."

Will these two be able to salvage a friendship? Is Doug in the wrong, or is he excused because he's a guy? Will Heidi's mom's reaction to Spencer open her eyes? What do you think?

Heroes: A Thirst for Revenge

OK. So, cheerleader Claire is out for blood. That doesn't even sound right. LOL. She's pissed that uncle Sylar opened up her brain and poked around. I'd probably be upset about that, too, but unlike Claire, I would not be able to exact revenge. So, she's the rogue teenager now having escaped from two moms. When will she catch up with her four-eyed dad and his new partner? That is the question.

Speaking of Sylar, it was almost scarier seeing him as a nice guy than it's been seeing him play the villain. He did save Noah, but he killed a guy with a really loud voice. I think we're in for more spooky kindness from Sylar next week.

Are Nikki and Jessica really gone? I'm confused. Where did Peter take Peter? What's the deal with Parkman? Does anybody care? Will Hero's mistrust of Ando actually bring about the betrayal Hero witnessed in the future? I'm thinking so. What do you think?

Desperate Housewives: Quantum Leap Season Premiere

The "Desperate Housewives" season premiere was full of surprises ... the biggest being that the storylines had jumped about four or five years! I'm still unsure how I feel about that . . . Anyway, the new news includes:

  • Gabby has two kids now (One who's very overweight.), and isn't quite as glamorous as we remember.
  • Susan and Mike have split.
  • Edie's back with a new husband, who's a bit controlling and has a past.
  • Bree is back with Orson. Her daughter now has custody of Bree's grandson, and her catering company is her "baby."
  • Lynette's boys are old enough to drive!

I think Edie's new husband will bring some great drama, and I am actually interested to see what happens to Susan and Mike. I never thought I'd say that. The ladies all seem in a bit of a funk right now. Hopefully, things will improve as the season progresses?

What do you think? Were you OK with the acceleration of the characters?

Making the Band IV: Dawn and Q

I happened to catch the latest episode of "MTB," and I had to comment on the whole Dawn and Q relationship! How cute -- in a syrupy sweet, diabetic coma way -- is that courtship! The two are inseparable, and I don't remember the last time I've seen a guy so whooped.

He's yelling his love for her from the mountaintops. He serenades her with Commodore classics, and draws her bubble baths. He drops the L-word as often as other guys scratch themselves, and he reserved a hotel room for her and spread rose petals everywhere.

Ummmm. I don't know whether to be impressed or to feel sorry for the guy.

How about you? What do you think of their on-camera romance? Is it real or contrived? Is Q, at 19, too young to really know what love is? Will there be a spin-off show featuring the two lovebirds? My bet is yes!

ANTM: Isis Bites the Dust

I guess it was only a matter of time. As a matter of fact, I called it last week. Isis is gone. Our transgendered friend has been eliminated. I didn't think she'd win the grand prize, but I did think she'd last a few weeks longer.

The judges said she was trying too hard to fit in and faded into the crowd. I think those hormones she takes make her feel bad. As soon as she injected herself, a few episodes back, her performance has been lackluster. Maybe she needs a new prescription.

So, the elimination trend continues. Another woman of color has been booted off! What's going on?! I hear there are rumors of an all-Black season of ANTM. I doubt it, but at least the elimination of the sistahs wouldn't be so obvious!

Heroes: Season Premiere

The premiere of "Heroes" was not a disappointment. After a pitiful season two cut short by the writers' strike, this premiere was a test to see whether fans could be pulled back into the lives of Hero, Peter, Claire and the rest of the gang.

I think I'll be tuning in ... as usual.

The Top 10 moments of the premiere:

1. Sylar is a Petrelli ... or at least a half brother of Peter and Nathan.
2. Sylar finally has Claire's powers. Tsk. Tsk. Tsk.
3. Ando will kill Hero in the future. (That seems unlikely.)
4. Mohinder develops a power (and a sex drive).
5. Mohinder and Maya hook up.
6. Tracy (AKA: Jessica and Nikki) has a new name and new freezing power. Thank goodness!
7 Peter is trapped in the body of a villain ... thanks to Peter.
8. The villains have escaped and are wreaking havoc.
9. Mama Petrelli has vivid dreams. That's a power.
10. There's a new really, really fast girl on the show.

What did you think of the season premiere? Did it pull you in? What the hell's going on with Mohinder's skin? What do you think of Tracy/Jessica/Nikki's new power? Would you try Mohinder's syrum?

The Hills: 'I Told You So'

So, it turns out Brody may have been right about Stephanie Pratt. It seems she is indeed shady.

While Lauren was away in Italy, Stephanie went out with Lauren's ex, Doug. This might not have been such a terrible thing if Stephanie hadn't been so sneaky about it. She goes to Audrina to ensure her silence, and she's obviously worried when Brody's mom catches Stephanie and Doug out on the town. So, she knew better, and she was just hoping she wouldn't get caught, which makes no sense, since she's on TV.

Anyway, Brody wasted absolutely no time letting Lauren know that he was right about Stephanie. I don't exactly like his smug, I-told-you-so attitude, but he did warn her.

What do you think? Was Stephanie wrong for going out with Lauren's ex? Should she have gotten an OK from Lauren first? How will Lauren react? Is this the end of the Pratt?

I Want to Work For Diddy: Double Whammy!

Both Boris and Kendra are eliminated tonight. Mike should have gone, too. I think he's a handsome guy, but for unnecessarily stabbing Kendra in the back, he needs to go home next! What a jerk!

Boris also went home, and I'm sure he was crushed. He expressed his love for Stephanie. She didn't smack him across the face like she normally would because she needs someone in the house to have her back. More than likely, Steph and Mike will pair up now, even though Steph swears she doesn't trust the guy.

Poprah did big things with the challenge. She made up a street game and nearly doubled Diddy's money. She had to split it, but I agree with her that she really shouldn't have had to. She made it happen, and although she still irks me, I do think she's the best candidate for now.

What will Diddy think? What did you think? Was Stephanie tramping it up by snuggling up to Boris to save her behind? They have a word for that. Don't they?

I Love Money: Real Gets Real Stupid

Real is an idiot. I'm sorry, but he's trippin'. The boy proposes to a girl he's only known for a month, and then he nearly ruins his alliance because of it.

Apparently, Chance suggests that maybe Real and Hoopz have something going on. Real is so blinded by jealousy, rage and embarrassment, that he plants a seed in Hoopz's head and makes her believe the White Boy has been talking about her. She almost fell for it, but luckily, Hoopz made her own judgment. So, she keeps White Boy and eliminates Toastee and Pumkin. Good choices. (I'm no huge WB fan, but I wouldn't want him to be eliminated off some rumor.)

I'm a little salty at Real, though. He turned on White Boy real quick for no apparently reason. Did he have evidence that White Boy was talking behind Hoopz's back, and even if WB was talking behind her back, that didn't mean he doesn't sincerely like the chick and want to take her to the top with him? Real's head is definitely no longer in the game. It's all about Hoopz, which is weird 'cause I'm relatively certain Real is gay.

What do you think?

ANTM: Makeover Episode!

The makeover episodes of "America's Next Top Model" are usually the most entertaining by far. It promises lots of tears and overreactions and usually more than a little bit of attitude. However, Tyra has found that if she doesn't tell the ladies what type of makeover they're getting, the transition is easier. So, we only had a few tears this time around, and Elina was the main culprit. She sees herself and really dark and serious. So, the Carrot Top makeover she received was funny indeed. The judges rewarded her by calling her name first during the eliminations.

It was Brittany who was sent home for being too pretty. Go figure. They say she wasn't model material, and from the way they talk, Isis might be next. Is it me, or do the minority chicks have targets on their backs?

I would have preferred for Tyra and the Jays to go home after their little Cinderella skit. I know the show is repetitive, but "Star Trek" and Disney themes aren't going to increase interest. It only leaves viewers perplexed and annoyed. Stop it.

Did you watch? What did you think? Should Brittany have gone home? Should Isis be next? Whose makeover was the worst, besides Elina's? LOL.

R-Rated Kelly

BET News sat down with R. Kelly, who was cleared of charges alleging he had sex with an underage woman, and he basically confirmed every one's suspicions.

So, I don't encourage lying, but my ex boyfriend used to tell me that if you deny something enough, people will believe you. Even if they saw it with their own eyes, they'll have doubts just because of your adamant, passionate denial. (This is one reason he's my ex. How do you trust that? LOL.) Anyway, I digress. My point is that when BET's Toure asked Kelly, "Do you like teenage girls?" His answer should have been, "no."

Instead Kelly asks, "What do you mean by teenage girls?" I half expected the cops to come out and cuff him again right then. Wouldn't an innocent man have just said, "no"? Wouldn't a more intelligent guilty man have said, "no"?

I notice BET doesn't have the video link on its site anymore. That makes me wonder if Kelly's lawyers took issue with their client's answers. If they didn't, there are a lot of people out there who did.

What do you think? Were Kelly's answers as good as a confession? Will you buy his music? I won't. Why start now?

The Hills: Is a Reconciliation Coming?

So, Heidi's sister, Holly reaches out to Lauren and the two have lunch. Lauren is understandably apprehensive. She knows what happens to the siblings of Speidi when they befriend her, but she reluctantly agrees to remain in contact with Holly, despite her continuing feud with Heidi.

Holly and Heidi seem to think a reconciliation will follow. I doubt it. Although, Lauren made up with Audrina, I'm doubting whether the slate with Heidi will be wiped clean any time soon, especially as long as Spencer is on the sidelines manipulating his gal pal.

Next week, it looks like Lauren's time away gives Stephanie the opportunity to prove Brody right. Is she going to betray Lauren? If so, I can't take it. I hated it when Jen Bunny and Heidi kicked her to the curb for some dudes. I don't think I can sit through that again. I'll have to fly to L.A. and kick some butt. Yes, it's that serious.

I Want to Work for Diddy: Party Pooper

Red, a party promoter, was eliminated after throwing a whack party. That makes perfect sense to me. He forgot to pick up the DJ. He couldn't come up with a theme, and where were the bartenders and waitresses?

I'm sure Poprah feels vindicated. She joined the Boris/Michael/Kendra team, and they won. Plus, the three seemed to have little problems with Poprah's personality. So, was she really the apple spoiling the bunch earlier in the season, or were her teammates really just hatin' on her?

Either way, I have the feeling the teams will be eliminated soon, and everybody will be looking out for self. I hate to admit it, but out of the remaining players, Poprah might really be the best choice. I'm hoping Mike can step it up, though, and take it all.

What do you think? Should Red have been sent home? Was Poprah toning it down for her new team, or has she just been misunderstood? Who's the best candidate? How do you mess up lemonade and vodka?

I Love Money: Funniest Proposal Ever!

Wow. So, somehow Real figures he and Hoopz have such a strong bond that he should propose to her. He gets a ring. Gets down on one knee and pops the question to a very surprised and unsuspecting Hoopz, who finds it all laughable.

Men, here's a clue. If she doesn't jump outta her skin and jump into your arms with tears of joy running down her face after you've popped the question, she ain't feelin' you. So, Hoopz doesn't give Real an answer. He gives her until the end of the day to give him an answer, and hopefully he can save face. When Hoopz tells White Boy that Real proposed, all he can do is laugh. I was right with him.

So, Brandi ends up going home. It was a tearful good-bye, but her act may be the thing that gets Pumkin and Toastee off the show next. Yeah, it's about time they bid farewell.

I'm not sure who will win. I initially thought White Boy was a shoe-in, but I'm not so sure anymore. If Real can propose to Hoopz, then anything is possible.

ANTM: The Curse of the Curves

Nikeysha was eliminated on the latest episode of "America's Next Top Model." I think that was a good call. She seemed to be struggling quite a bit. The judges said they'd have to airbrush her to make her look heavier. A lot of women in America would kill for that privilege.

Sheena hasn't been in the bottom two yet, but I can feel it coming. She's the model the judges complain is too sexy. I've never really understood this criticism. Is it that she takes attention away from the clothes? I remember back in Cycle 1 when a girl was ultimately eliminated for the same reason. Go figure. Sheena's relatively curvy, and most people would think it normal if not attractive.

What was apparently abnormal is her chest. I didn't notice, but the judges guessed that her boobs were fake. At first she denied it, but after giving it some thought, she admitted to the judges, her fellow contestants and the viewing public that her breasts are artificial. That takes a lot of guts. The judges rewarded her by keeping her on the show. Will her fake friends be her undoing in the end? Fake boobs don't exactly subtle the sexy.

What do you think? Shouldn't models be sexy? Should women be penalized for being curvy ... even when they're borderline malnourished? Is Tyra a hypocrite for telling women to tone it down!

I Want to Work for Diddy: Laverne's Loss

Once again Poprah takes somebody out. Her team continues to put her up for elimination, but it always backfires. I can't blame her teammates for repeatedly nominating her for elimination. I agree with Laverne, who was eliminated for not selling one bottle of Diddy's perfume. Most of the team's dysfunction is a direct result of Poprah's overbearing personality.

Sadly, the judges know it's a personality that Diddy could respect on some level. What he won't respect are whiners, and that's what her opponents appear to be when they try to argue against Poprah.

However, next week it looks like everyone confronts Poprah about her attitude. I'm looking forward to it. It's too bad Laverne had to be eliminated BEFORE Poprah changes her ways, assuming that's what happens. Laverne was definitely the most entertaining of the bunch. Other than Boris, whose moniker conjures images of a buffoon, I can't remember anyone else's name.

What do you think? Should Laverne have gone home? Would she have made a good assistant to Diddy? Will Poprah calm herself if the others gang up on her next week?

The Hills: BFFs

Audrina and Lauren made up! That warmed my heart. After weeks of awkwardness, the two girls finally buried the hatchet. I was worried after the Vegas trip where neither girl bothered to speak. The whole situation was weird, since there didn't seem to be any obvious reason why the girls stopped talking. Yes, we know Lo was a factor, but just because Lo and Audrina had troubles didn't mean Lauren and Audrina had to. So, I'm glad they're back on track. It will be interesting to see how Lo and Justin Bobby respond. JB's no friend to Lauren.

Spencer's too much for me. I think his main problem with Heidi's sister is that she was in the living room, and that's where he keeps his video games. Heidi gave him some sound advice. "Maybe you shouldn't be in the house so much." That's code for : Get a life!

What do you think? Will Audrina and Lauren be able to stay friends, or will drama strain the friendship again? How big a jerk is Spencer? Will Heidi's sister 'cause Spencer to move out? We should be so lucky. LOL.

Rev. Run: Always Imitated; Never Duplicated

First there was Rev. Run. Then there was Snoop Dogg. Now, Luke and Coolio are in the mix. Go figure.

What makes TV producers think the viewing public wants to see how misogynistic 90s Has Beens raise their children? (Actually, Luke is an 80s Has Been.) I'm not sure, but E! Entertainment's Snoop Dogg's "Fatherhood" was a flop, and I expect the same from Luke and Coolio, two rap artists of whom I was never a big fan.

Plus, Coolio's show is airing on Oxygen. How random is that?

I think "Run's House" is the only of these shows worth airtime. He's a sincere father who's endeared to rap fans because he's Rev. Run! He's respected and watching the show just increases viewers' respect for him. I doubt anyone can say the same for the copycats. It's a formula other cable channels can't copy because Rev. Run is one-of-a-kind. He's a Godfather of rap. So, let Run do his thing and stop with all the fakers.

ANTM: Turn It Off, Scotty

There was little new about the two-hour "America's Next Top Model" premiere. The hyper wannabes could hardly contain themselves as they entered the presence of Mr. and Miss Jay and Tyra. They screamed, shrieked and burst a few microphones in the process; I'm sure.

However, the producers did try to do something a little different for this season opener, but it was a classic example of trying too hard. What was up with all that futuristic, Sci-Fi crap? Tyra was trying to do the robot. Judges were disappearing a la special effects, and the models looked about as confused as any aliens would be to see Tyra dressed in tin foil.

I'm not sure what the purpose was, but I found it distracting. Maybe Sharaun found it distracting, too. Despite her repeatedly telling her peers and judges, "I am the Next Top Model," she got the boot. Don't we all know by now that Tyra appreciates modesty.

I was glad the alien thing didn't extend into episode two, or I was going to blast my TV into space to join Tyra's panel. What did you think? Was that cute, or just weird? Did you think Sharaun should have been eliminated? How long 'til the girls confront Isis about her "difference"?

The Hills: Whitney's Boss Rocks!

I might need a new job. After watching the latest episode of "The Hills," I think I need a job like Whitney's where young, strapping, shirtless fellows abound, and my boss hooks me up with them!

How cool was that?

We'd only seen the mean, unforgiving, workaholic side of Whitney's boss. Who knew she could be so wise, conniving, thoughtful and downright cool?!

Will Whitney be swept off her feet and off to New York? Will her boss continue to set her up on dates? Are they hiring?

Transgendered: The Newest Reality Trend

The new season of "America's Next Top Model" premieres tomorrow night. The show has been kind of stale as of late, so it seems Tyra and the gang have thought of a way to spice it up.

The show features its first transgendered contestant (Isis: pictured right). One of the ladies, wasn't always. As a child he dreamed of becoming and model, and now she has the chance.

Although she's the only transgendered contestant on the show, she's in good company. Over on MTV, another transgendered character competes for a chance to work for Diddy.

Thus, the newest reality trend has begun. The gay roommate trend is played out, and now it seems reality TV is exploring a new taboo. Can we expect the same on "Real World," "Big Brother," "Survivor," "The Apprentice?" My guess is YES, until another trend comes along.

What do you think? Are reality shows featuring transgendered characters in hopes of increasing ratings, or is it just a sign of the times?

I Want to Work for Diddy: Who Ordered Cupcakes?

No one was eliminated tonight, and that's good for Kendra, but not-so-much for Boris. The two were up for elimination after not tending to Diddy's baby mama, Kim Porter, well enough. Boris was ready to defend himself and impress the judges, but in the process, he threw just about everybody else on his team under the bus.

He betrayed the confidence of one of his team members. He accused another of thinking with the wrong body part, and he told the judges that Kendra wanted to have sexual relations with Diddy. She was so shocked that she could hardly respond at all. However, Boris' attacks proved unnecessary, and instead of impressing the judges, he just turned his team against him. What is that they say about watching who you step on while you're climbin' the ladder to the top?

Did you watch? Do you think Boris went too far, or does the outcome justify the means? How will Laverne do on her new team with Poprah? Will Poprah ever learn to let others take the lead? Who ordered cupcakes?

I Love Money: Full of Spit

A spitting competition? That was the challenge on the latest episode. How gross! Who wants to see grown folks spitting green liquid? That's not what I'd consider "Must See TV," but I did watch. I did it for you ... my loyal fans. LOL.

Anyway, the competition is getting down to the wire. Just about everyone remaining has hopped on the White Boy train. Everyone left wants to be a part of his alliance. I guess we'll have to see how it plays out to find out whether this really makes sense. It seems to me that once everyone outside of the alliance is gone, White Boy will still have the power, and he'll just walk away with the $250k, but it's also possible he'll lose an individual challenge, and someone will finally have the balls to bring him down.

We'll see.

So, did you watch the Spit Olympics (The Greek gods are turning over in their urns)? Would you have sent Heather home? Did she mess up by distancing herself from the Entertainer, or was he just using that as an excuse to betray her? Are Brandi C. and Megan really the puppeteers of this game?
