The Hills: Will Heidi and Lauren Be Friends?

The season finale of "The Hills" felt a lot like a series farewell. It had the type of resolution of story lines that was witnessed when the Evans family of "Good Times" finally left the ghetto. However, during the after show, viewers were assured that Lauren and "The Hills" will return.

That's good 'cause I really want to see where Audrina and Justin Bobby are going. He spit out a ring for her and shared some really sweet emotions. It would have been more touching if he were actually able to part his lips. The mumbling sort of ruined it for me, but Audrina lapped it right up. Good for them. What will happen next season? Maybe those two will be the new stars of MTV's "Newlyweds." Where does that leave Speidi?
I'm not sure, but their about-face at the Justice of the Peace means there's more time for Heidi to change her mind. However, it was actually a sweet moment. Spencer realized Heidi was unhappy with her mom's absence from the "ceremony." (Thanks, Stephanie) I hope that was evidence that Spencer will put Heidi first before his own selfish desires. Will she get the big, traditional wedding she's always wanted? I'd say she's one step closer.

So, what's up with Lauren? The season ended with her and Heidi having a civil conversation. There was even a hug, and Lauren said she'd be there for Heidi if Heidi really needed her. Ummm. Wait 'til Spencer gets a load of that! I guess we'll have to wait 'til next season

What did you think of the season? Do you plan to hang in there for another season? If so, which story lines will be bringing you back?

Blush

Lifetime's first reality competition series, "Blush," pitted make-up artists against one another. My favorite contestant, Nolan, won the big prize. I also liked Todd. I'd party with those two any day. Maxi rounded out the final three. He's what you'd call "elaborate" or "extra." His main criticism the entire series was his over-the-top attitude. "Blush" had some of the biggest personalities I've seen on a reality show; however, there was no violence. So, I give them props for keeping it funky minus the fisticuffs. LOL.

Honestly, I'm not a big makeup person. A little lip gloss and eyeliner is my everyday, but I definitely have more respect for face paint now. I wish I knew how to cover blemishes with foundation, and do that whole smokey eye thing. I'm starting to understand why DeShawn of "Housewives of ATL" has her own in-house, make-up artist (but I don't excuse her).

There were women on the show, but the most talented in the group were men. That made me think of "Project Runway." The majority of winners on that show have been men. Why are men so into fashion? Is it because they spend a lot of time staring at women? Is it because they'd secretly like to put the clothes on themselves? Are they fulfilling fantasies? Mmmm?

Either way, the fellas have got lots of talent whether it's doing make up or designing clothes. Let's hear it for the boys.

Did you watch "Blush"? Who was your favorite? Do you have a new appreciation for make up? Will there be a season two? Can someone show me how to do the smokey eye?

Stylista's Star

The CW's "Stylista" took a handful of 20-somethings and gave them the opportunity to win a Junior Editor position at Elle Magazine. Surprisingly, few of the candidates had actual journalism experience. You don't see people on "Project Runway" who've never sewed before, but I digress.

Johanna took home the prize and won the position. Although she didn't always shine in the weekly challenges, she did seem to be the most passionate about the job. She also worked hard when some others seemed to be a little more strategic, yet less dedicated about the hustle.

Early on, I liked Ashlie, but she turned me off when she spazzed out about Colonge being eliminated. I never liked Megan; although, her confessionals were among the most entertaining. Katie was dramatic. So, I missed her when she left. I don't think the others warrant mention.

Did you watch? What did you think? Does Tyra have another hit on her hands? Will there be a season two? Can this be considered a spin-off of "The Devil's Wears Prada"? Will I ever be able to view the pages of Elle the same way again?

Momma's Boys

NBC's newest reality show, Momma's Boys, is like "The Bachelor" on steroids. Instead of one bachelor, there are three men looking for the right woman. However, unlike "The Bachelor," the men on "MB," have their moms along for the ride to help make that final decision.

The relationship between these grown men and their moms is troublesome, to say the least. Many of them still live at home. One mother admits to calling her son 100 times a day, and he answers each time! Another apparently tells women that her son is gay to keep them away. It'd be an understatement to call the relationships "dysfunctional."

In the premiere, Khalood -- one of the mothers -- offended several women when she boldly announced her preference for a white, petite, Catholic daughter-in-law. She refuses to accept Black, Jewish or full figured women who may be interested in her son. Of course, this caused some tension, and one black girl argued with Khalood about her views. I'm not sure why she cares. Personally, I'd be glad her views were expressed early, and I'd stay clear of her and her son. Who needs 'em?

The first elimination happens in the following episode. It will be interesting to see if the minority women are cut from the show first. We know that's Khalood's preference. Will she learn some tolerance from this experience? Will the fellas defy their mothers, or will the moms maintain total control? Are there any girls on the show who can please both the guy and his mom? Will anyone find happiness? Will there be more arguments? Will you watch?

The Hills: The Buzzed Bride

There have been rumors circulating that Heidi was somehow under the influence when she agreed to a private, impromptu wedding with beau Spencer. On the latest episode of "The Hills," the rumors are confirmed.

If the episode stands up to editing, it looks like Spencer manipulated Heidi by flying her to a romantic island and throwing Patrone shots down her throat. Then, he suggested marriage. She agreed. That's not to suggest that she didn't want to marry him, but most girls don't dream of stumbling down the aisle with a hangover on their wedding day.

On next week's season finale, Heidi's mom reacts. That should be interesting.

Again, I ask. How long will it be before the Speidi spin off? I'm taking bets.

Heroes: Lots of Dead Heroes

The latest episode was deemed the season finale, but the show returns in February. Whether I'll be returning to NBC to watch it, is another issue. Whether there are any heroes left to watch next season, is what we'll explore now.

It seems a lot of heroes took their last bow. Claire lost her biological mother, the fire thrower. The fear feeder, also known as Marlo from "The Wire," was iced to death. Sylar was killed, and a few other rogue "heroes" succumbed to death in various ways. Elle and Arthur Petrelli were murdered last week. So, only the original Petrellis, Hiro, Ando, Mohinder, Tracy, Parkman and Daphne seem to be left? Am I missing anybody. The list is getting shorter.

Yes, Hiro did survive. The last episode had him hanging on a ledge. He pulled himself to safety, but was almost sliced to death by his father. Is it me or is Hiro starting to remind you of Charlie Brown. Whenever he tries to do something, I end up thinking, "Good Grief." Please, help this wayward hero get himself together! I can't take it anymore. I'm expecting a girl dressed in blue to pull a football from him any second now.

The next season's preview promises more darkness. The heroes will be hunted and captures. Oh, joy!

Will you watch, or have you had it with these heroes?

Secret Millionaire

I stumbled upon a new Fox series last week. It had the same philanthropic feel of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition." I found myself wondering if the network could write the whole series off as charitable giving.

I digress. The show, "Secret Millionaire," transplanted a multi-millionaire into an impoverished, urban neighborhood. He was given $14 a day to live on, and his goal was to walk in the shoes of the less fortunate and then give away $100K.

So, after the millionaire volunteered at soup kitchens and sat down with those less fortunate a la "Good Times," he learned the joys of giving back and provided some much-needed assistance to his new friends.

I hope the series ends with a reunion show or "Where Are They Now?" segment. I'd like to know if those given the money were actually able to make better lives for themselves. In today's economy, $100K doesn't go as far as it used to.

I'll probably tune in again next week. It's a feel good show that makes you grateful for what you have and want to give to somebody else.

It airs Thursdays of Fox. Check it out.

The Hills: Spiraling Toward the Spin Off

"The Hills" began with Lauren meeting Whitney. Now, it's time to bid farewell to Whit. She's packing up and moving away from California and away from Lauren. However, it doesn't look like she'll be alone. She's got new friendships to look forward to. One particular dark and handsome fellow steals some smooches with Whit before she quickly heads back to California. Will we be seeing more of him on "The City"? I think so. He has a bit of a Justin Bobby thing going on, but for Whitney's sake, I hope similarities end with the mussed up hair.

In the same old news, Spencer continues to criticize Stephanie's choice in a man. Isn't that ironic? I'm surprised that Stephanie listens to her bone head brother at all. She can't possibly respect his opinion that much. Can she?

What do you think? Is Spencer looking out for his sister's best interest, or just being a jerk? Will Whitney's romance with the New Yorker continue? What will happen to Lauren and "The Hills"?

Heroes: Papa Petrelli Dead?!

Sylar's a bad guy again, and although I'm no supporter of evil, I'm glad he's not giving me cavities anymore. Last week, he killed his lover Elle. This week, he killed Papa Petrelli after finding out that he was not the brother of Nathan and Peter. I wonder if he was more upset about not being a Petrelli or about being lied to and used? Either way, it ended badly for the leader of "those with abilities."

Right before his death, Papa Petrelli added the catalyst to Mohinder's formula. Supposedly, this will give regular folks a chance to have powers, and hopefully, it will reverse whatever Mohinder did to himself. When the formula is tried on a former 4400, it works well, and he starts throwing chairs through glass to show his strength.

I wish Hiro could show some of that strength. It was nice to see him reunited with his mother -- if only briefly; however, it was sort of pathetic to see him persuade his mother to give him the catalyst and then lose it not an hour later! He told her he would protect it, but that's not exactly what went down. Hiro ended up hanging off a building from a flag pole. I need for him to get it together. Part of his charm was knowing Hiro was going to become a Jedi master. What happened? When does that kick in?

What do you think? Will Mohinder be cute again? Will Hiro ever get it together? Is Papa Petrelli really dead? Will Sylar ever go good again? Will the formula work this time, or will the heroes need to save the world from the monsters they create?

Bromance!

MTV is taking a page out of the VH1 Celebreality book, and extending the "Laguna" franchise as far as the universe will allow -- or at least from the West Coast to the East. From "Laguna," came "The Hills." Now, "The Hills" is spinning off "The City," featuring Whitney in NYC, and "Bromance," where Lauren's former crush Brody tries to find a new friend to replace Spencer. I guess it's like Paris' BFF show without all the pink. Nine guys compete for the honor of partying, vacationing and drinking with Brody.

A great after show would be to have Spencer comment on each episode of "Bromance" after it airs. What does Spencer think of his potential replacements? Speaking of which, how far are we from a new "Newlyweds" series featuring Speidi?
Will you watch "Bromance"? Are you glad "Laguna" is living on, or is enough enough already?

The Hills: Reconciliation

So, it was no big surprise that Audrina and Lauren made up on the latest episode. Audrina sincerely apologized, and in the process, she revealed that she wasn't happy with the person she'd become while dating Justin. Will she break things off with him? I'm doubting it.

While Audrina worked on fixing her relationship with Lauren, Stephanie worked on improving her relationship with her grandmother, who clearly prefers Spencer over Stephanie. I believe grandmom and Heidi are the only two people in the world of this opinion. Stephanie decides she'll try to be closer to her grandmother despite granny's favoritism. I do think granny and Spencer have a lot in common.

I, for one, am ready for this season to end. I would like for Holly and Heidi to patch things up for the finale, but I'm not holding my breath. I'd also like some resolution to the Audrina and Justin drama. What do you think? How will the season end?

Heroes: Total Eclipse of the Sun, Part 2

So, as we all predicted, the heroes' powers returned once the eclipse ended. Claire healed herself after being split open. This would make the second time she's come alive after such a procedure. Nathan can fly again. Daphne's running once more. Hiro's time traveling, and Sylar is back to splitting skulls. That's bad news for Elle, who became a victim of the monster she helped create.

Unfortunately for Mohinder, the end of the eclipse also brought back his scales. Will viewers be forced to see him turned into the Fly for the remainder of the season? I sure hope not. It's an unnecessary sidebar to the main story line, if you ask me. Why they felt the need to disfigure one of the favorite and most attractive characters on the show, I do not know.

So, where is this season going? I think the heroes are still trying to prevent the synthetic mutation serum. I'm unsure, but maybe that will become clear by the season finale.

What do you think? Where is this all going?

Real Housewives of Atlanta: Top Reunion Moments

That was entertainment. I have to admit I'm going to miss Lisa, Sheree, Kim and NeNe. Those ladies gave me a reason to turn on the tube Tuesday nights, and they also made me feel better about my ever-decreasing bank account. If money will turn me into one of them, I'd rather be poor.

There were several great moments from the show, but here are my top five:

1. Kim's Cancer Lie. The woman who smokes a pack of cigarettes/day tearfully admits she had cancer. Then, retracts that statement five minutes later, proving Lisa right. Kim's a liar.

2. NeNe vs. Kim. Where to begin? I think it's safe to say this friendship is officially over. Kim calls NeNe a bitch, and Lisa has to sit on NeNe's lap to keep her from exacting revenge on her ex-friend. Oh, and NeNe reiterates that Kim can't sing. LOL.

3. Lisa vs. Kim. Kim claims that Lisa is the one who first told her about NeNe mocking her singing skills. Lisa denies it, and when Kim persists. Lisa threatens to flip her over the couch. I'd like to see that.

4. Dwight. Anybody strolling out with that fly curly weave has to make the top five. Oh, and his comments on Kim's hair earn him a spot, too.

5. Big Poppa. He didn't make an appearance, but he was mentioned. It turns out he's married, and while Kim thinks he'll leave his wife, NeNe has this advice, "Close your legs to married men." Nice.

So, what were your Top 5 moments of the reunion or the season!? Will there be a season two?

The Hills: Audrina's Drama

Audrina's trippin.' She hears a rumor that Justin and Lauren hooked up, and she actually entertains the thought. I'll let you read that sentence again and let it sink in 'cause it's not a misprint.

Audrina actually believes that Justin and Lauren had a fling. She confronts both of the accused, and both vehemently deny any wrongdoing. As a matter of fact, they're bot insulted. Lauren compares Audrina to Heidi and clarifies her true feelings for Justin, so there's no misunderstanding. "I think he's disgusting." There!

Lauren had a right to be insulted. She has been a great and loyal friend to Audrina. She seems to be a true believer in "treat others the way you want to be treated." So, the idea that she would stab Audrina in the back by hooking up with Justin is "laughable," as Lo put it. As a result of the rumor, Audrina might just end up without a boyfriend or a best friend. Awful.

In other news, Spencer alienates Holly even more. Heidi's sis comes to visit, and Spencer makes it clear that Heidi doesn't want to see Holly, but Spencer says he'll give Heidi Holly's message. Later, Holly visits her sis at work, and Heidi's stunned to find out that her Spencer never relayed Holly's message.

I guess she should be referred to as Mrs. Pratt. Word has it Heidi and Spencer are married now. Crazy.

Did you watch? Should Lauren forgive Audrina? Is it at all possible that Justin and Lauren did hook up? Now that she's married, will the world ever see Heidi again?

Heroes: Finally Living in the Present

The latest episode of "Heroes" chronicled just one day in the lives of the characters. There weren't storylines happening in the past and folks having dreams set in the future. I almost enjoyed it.

An eclipse strips the superhumans of their powers. The Petrelli boys fall from the sky mid-flight. Claire tries to stop a bullet with her body, only to end up in the hospital. Hiro, Ando and Parkman end up stuck in Smallville thanks to one of Hiro's ill-timed blinks.

In the meantime, Sylar and Elle are connecting romantically. If that's good news, than Mohinder's new is phenomenal. He's apparently lost his slimy scales and huge, nasty skin boils. Eclipses don't last forever, so what happens to the heroes and villains after the sun and moon separate is any one's guess.

What do you think? Will these regular, ol' humans get their powers back? Will Mohinder remain free of scales? Where was Nathan dragged off to? What's wrong with Daphne's legs, and why is Hiro 10? I'm pretty sure I missed something there.

Real Housewives of Atlanta: Bitter Sweet

The finale of "Real Housewives of Atlanta" is about what you would expect, except there wasn't any bloodshed.

Lisa was on a mission to get all the ladies together for a final dinner. (I'm sure the show producers were on a mission, too.) So, they first come in contact during a surprise birthday party for Lisa's hubby. Sheree and NeNe take a photo together, but the forced smiles were more phony than Kim's singing career.

Later, the ladies gather for a dinner. The steak knives on the table aren't enough to break the tension, but that's what NeNe was for. After the ladies spoke about growth, and Kim talked about her experiences during the show, NeNe asked for clarification, noting that she hadn't spoken to Kim, and didn't know what Kim was referring to.

In the end, Kim admitted that she should have actually reached out to NeNe before deciding to never speak to her again and sending that less-than-ladylike text message. Will these two be able to bury the hatchet and move on?

If you've seen the reunion show previews, then you know the answer.

ANTM: McKey Wins!

McKey won the title of "America's Next Top Model." It wasn't a big shock. Samantha and Analeigh were good competition, but McKey was consistently the better model.

For the last challenge, the final two were forced to walk a steep, curvy, hot pink runway. Do such things really exist, or do the judges just make this stuff up as they go along?

Rumor has it that Mr. and Mrs. Jay may soon be getting their own reality series. What does that mean for "Top Model"? Considering that Tyra is doing her own talk show and working on "Stylista," my guess is that she sees a cancellation coming.

Honestly, the show's been a bit stale the past few seasons, so I would not be surprised. However, I do feel a bit sorry for all the model wannabes out there who were just waiting to come of age. Oh, well.

Akeelah on TV

Akeelah has a new show on Nick. Wait. I meant KeKe Palmer, star of the feature film, "Akeelah and the Bee," has a new show. I hope it's age appropriate. She scared me a little when she released a few singles and turned into a smaller version of Beyonce.

The sitcom centers around True Jackson (Palmer) as a fashion VP. Go figure.

I won't be tuning in, but I may encourage my little cousins to watch.

Will you tune in?

Thursday, November 13, 2008

ANTM: Marjorie's Dismissed

Marjorie's gone. Her failure to book a job from any of the go-sees, was the final nail in the coffin. Marjorie takes a good photos, and once she works on being so nervous in front of people, she'll book plenty of jobs.

The final three girls are Analeigh, Samantha and McKey. I think Marjorie will be the next one eliminated. The final two should be Analeigh and McKey. Both have consistently improved, and both take really nice photos. If it comes down to personality, I think Analeigh will win, but you never know.
I'm expecting there to be some sort of fashion show as the final competition. That's the established formula. Who do you think will win?

Real Housewives of Atlanta: More Ghetto Fabulousness

NeNe finds out that Curtis is not her father! I expected that he would be, as she'd thought all along. Now, she has to decide if she wants to search for her real father. Do I feel a season two coming on?

A few weeks back, DeShawn hosted a terrible charity event that didn't raise a dime. This time around, Sheree hosts a fashion show with no fashions. I'm not sure how I'd go about launching a career as a fashion designer, but I'll venture to say that Sheree may have skipped a few steps. If Sheree took some time off from her massages and gossiping and tuned into "Project Runway," she'd know it's not as easy as sketching and then putting on a fashion show. Go figure.

Lisa's depressed to learn her husband will be playing for a team on the West Coast. Will she become a regular on the "Housewives of Orange County?" Stay tuned.

Did you watch the show? Will NeNe attempt to try to find her father, or let sleeping dogs lie? Will Lisa stay in ATL while her hubby travels to Oakland for the football season? Will Sheree give up on the clothing line and go back to alimony has her primary source of income? Will Sheree and NeNe make amends for the season finale?

The Hills: Speidi Attacks!

It's Spencer to the rescue. It's no wonder he expected Stephanie's beau to confront Brody. We've learned that Spencer is not at all shy about confronting men on Heidi's behalf ... no matter how much he embarrasses them both.

Did Spencer really think he'd get Heidi's job back for her? I guess he's too close to the situation to realize he's the major problem. Heidi's ex-boss tried to explain that to both Spencer and Heidi in their separate attempts to plea her case. She not-so-subtly asked for her job back, but I tend to think that's not going to happen.

Over on the east coast, Lauren and Whitney are having a ball in NYC. Whitney runs in to the cutie from a few weeks back, but she's not at all interested. He's seen staring at her dejectedly from a distance as she shamelessly flirts with a dark-haired musician.

I was surprised Whitney wasn't a bit more sensitive to her admirer's feelings, but she definitely made her preference known. Poor dude.

So, what do you think? Did Whitney make the right choice? Should she have dissed the nice guy for a musician!? Will Heidi get her job back? Will she ever work in that town again?

Celebreality Gone Bad

Sigh. I know I'm not one to talk, but this celebreality stuff is getting out of hand. I think I miss the good ol' days of "Real World" and "Survivor" where regular Joes were the stars.

Two new reality shows, featuring celebrities, recently premiered. I already commented on the Coolio show on Oxygen. WTH? That's about as random as Billy Graham on Cartoon Network.

Last week was the premiere of 50 Cent's new show on MTV. It's basically "I Want to Work for Diddy," starring 50 as Donald Trump. Wait. I mean, it's like "The Apprentice" with Diddy. I'm confused.

Anyway, in honor of these horrible reality mishaps, here's my list of the Top 10 celebrities who never should have had shows. The ratings support my findings, but even if it was a highly-rated show, I think you'll agree. Here's my list:

1. 50 Cent - "The Money and the Power"
2. Coolio - "Coolio's Rules"
3. Tyson Beckford - "Make Me a Supermodel"
4. Paris Hilton - "Simple Life"
5. Flavor Flav - "Flavor of Love" and "Surreal Life"
6. Bobby Brown - "Being Bobby Brown"
7. Ozzy and Sharon - "The Osbournes"
8. Martha Stewart - "The Apprentice"
9. Snoop Dogg - "Fatherhood"
10. Mr. T - "I Pity the Fool"

If you didn't know that these folks ever had reality shows, you're lucky.

So, which shows top your list of reality shows that should have never been greenlit?

Heroes: Hopefully, It Will All Make Sense In Time

Rumor has it that two head writers of "Heroes" have been terminated. I won't rejoice in anyone's misfortune, but I'm looking forward to seeing what the new story lines bring.

The latest episode had more time travel via Hiro, who fell into some sort of trance that allowed him to see what was going on in the lives of the heroes BEFORE the series began.

The most interesting reveal was that Gabrielle and Elle were once close. She was working for the company and ended up helping Gabrielle become Sylar by basically feeding him others with abilities.

We also found out more about the Petrelli family, and we got some background on Claire's fire-throwing mother.

Hopefully, it will all come together and seem relevant in the near future.

What do you think? Are you ready for the back-and-forth between past, present and future to end? Is that the reason this season seems to be dragging along?

Real Housewives of ATL: Low Budget What?

So, I think it's official. NeNe and Kim are no longer BFFs. Honestly, I think Kim is upset because when she first shared her singing aspirations with NeNe, Nene joked her. Her feelings were hurt, and she started to question NeNe's friendship. That was magnified when the ladies told Kim how NeNe imitated her, mocking her voice, her looks and even her hair!

I think DeShawn is the one who told Sheree, and Sheree was more than happy to tell Kim; I think. So, Kim retaliated by snubbing NeNe at some lingerie place and then sending her a ghetto-fabulous text in which Kim called NeNe a cheap dog, but not that nicely.

Although I don't think NeNe should have been joking on Kim's skills, I do have to agree that Kim cannot sing. She apparently smokes a pack a day, and is tone deaf, but for some reason she feels she's ready to record an album. NeNe was right to tell her friend the truth, but she could have handled it more maturely, and she should have realized that was a sensitive area for her friend, not fodder for teasing.

So, where does that leave the girls? NeNe's on the outs and stuck with DeShawn. Kim and Sheree are best buds, and Lisa is still about her business.

Will Kim and NeNe reconcile? Will Kim make an album, or will luck smile on us? What do you think?

The Hills: The End of an Era

Audrina has left the building. We knew she wasn't totally happy living out in the pool house, but her announcement did seem somewhat sudden. Audrina is a new homeowner, and she wants to take full advantage. She even goes so far as to invite Justin to move in, but he decides to just "let it happen." I think that translates into, "slow down, Audrina."

Audrina wasn't the only person moving a bit fast. Heidi should have taken it easy on the tequila. While working a big Bolthouse party, she decides to throw back a few. Of course, her bosses are none to pleased, but she doesn't comprehend the severity of the situation until she's fired. Getting drunk and talking back to your boss usually results in termination -- or so I've heard -- so, it was only a surprise to Heidi.

Will she leave the working force and sit around on the couch all day with Spencer? Will Justin move in with Audrina? What will the girls do with the empty pool house? Will Audrina and Lauren's friendship survive the move? Will Audrina and Heidi hang out more?

ANTM: So Long, Sheena

We saw this one coming a mile away. Sheena finally got the boot on the latest "ANTM." The judges said she hadn't yet figured out how to turn down the sexy without going completely bland.

In the bottom two with Sheena, was Elina. If you ask me, it's time for Elina to go. Week after week the judges give her the same criticism, which means she's not improving much. Tyra said her reserved, controlled nature translates into stiff modeling. However, she's been giving yet another chance to prove she can get it.

I know this is nothing new, but I'm tiring of Tyra's contradictions. She stresses personality so much, but then Joslyn and Sheena get sent home. While rigid, cold Elina sticks around.

So, which is it? Is personality the big must-have, or is it really about the modeling? Pick one, Tyra, but let's not continue going back and forth. Cool?

So, what did you think? Should Sheena have been sent home? Will Elina ever loosen up? What was up with the brothel challenge? Did Miss Jay remove his pants, or was I having a nightmare?

Housewives of ATL: Destined for Greatness?

Is it me, or is DeShawn a little off? She claims to be "destined for greatness," but I don't see it. The last time I checked, having an in-house staff (with salon included) does not indicate greatness. Plus, if that fundraiser was any indication, she's got a long way before hitting mediocrity. She didn't even break even and spent twice as much throwing the party than she did in profit. Sad. Her husband didn't seem to surprised at his wife' failed attempt. Interesting.

In other news, it looks like Kim and NeNe are one episode away from estranged. Kim has decided she likes Sheree and wants to be her friend. She's trying to get the three of them to hang out. However, NeNe isn't having it. So, where does that leave NeNe? Alone. That's my guess. At a time when she's struggling with her identity and sending a son off to college, I think friends would be good thing to keep around. We'll see what happens. My guess is that NeNe will eventually mend things with Sheree, so she can stay in the circle.

What do you think? Was Kim wrong for trying to get Sheree and NeNe together? Would it have been "fake" for NeNe to hang out with Sheree, or just mature? What is wrong with DeShawn? Why is Lisa so cool? She's still my favorite.

Heroes

The latest episode was better than last week's, but still lacking compared to past seasons. There were a few highlights.

  • Parkman learns how to better use his powers.
  • Sylar saves Peter by throwing him out of a window.
  • Miya is "cured" of her strange power.
  • Blonds Ellie and Claire unite.
  • Papa Petrelli kills Adam in a most horrible way.
Did you watch? What do you think of the new season so far? What is Papa Petrelli's ultimate plan?

The Hills: Empty Words

It's no surprise that Spencer seems to feel that a confrontation between Stephanie's new beau and Brody is warranted. Drama queen Spencer isn't happy unless he has some reason to belittle his sister and cause cattiness. Constantly reminding her about Brody's not-so-chivalrous behavior seems to give Spencer some sort of perverted pleasure, and of course, if he can ruin LC and Brody's evening, that's a cherry on top for Spencer.

Much to Spencer's disappointment, I'm sure, the two fellas did not so much as speak to one another. However, for Stephanie's new fella this may mean it's over before it starts. Her brother has her convinced that any decent fellow would have challenged Brody to a duel and avenged Stephanie for something that happened weeks earlier. He did say that he would confront Brody, and I think that's where he messed up. It's not a big deal that he didn't say anything to Brody. That was the mature move, but he seems like he punked out by not doing what he said he would. Will she break up with the new guy? Probably.

While Stephanie contemplates breaking up, it seems Audrina and JB may be making things official. Was his "I want to be with you" some sort of commitment? Can he stick to it? Can he treat Audrina the way she deserves? I won't be negative. We'll just have to wait and see. Hopefully, he can back up his words better than Stephanie's boyfriend.

ANTM: The Cover Girl Challenge

This week, the wannabes tackled an "ANTM" challenge staple ... the dreaded Cover Girl commercial. However, this year the ladies were able to read from a prompt and weren't required to memorize lines. As a result, the spots were much, much better.

Analeigh won the challenge. Tyra said her commercial was the best in the history of the show. Joslyn did not fair so well. She was sent home. Although she was violently ill and sucked it up to complete the challenge, Tyra told her she wasn't getting rewarded for that. So, there are no brown-skinned contestants left. However, Sheena is still representin'. LOL.

Elina also won a challenge, but that didn't keep her from ending up in the bottom two. Next week may be her last chance to prove to the judges that she isn't too controlled or reserved to be what they want her to be. Maybe she should have saved the emotion and tears she shed in the house for the judging.

So, what do you think? Is it really Elina and Marjorie vs. the world? Should Joslyn have gone home? Was Analeigh's commercial really that great? Is it just me, or are those twisty twins a little unsettling?

Real Housewives of Atlanta: Baby Daddy Drama

I really don't even know what to say about NeNe's latest drama. Actually, "drama" makes it seem like a petty thing -- like the NeNe vs. Sheree drama, but that seems like small potatoes in comparison to what NeNe's dealing with now.

She has reason to question who her father is after getting a letter from a relative. She thought Curtis was her father. That's what her mother (now deceased) had always told her. However, when she asked Curtis his opinion. He confesses that he's always had his doubts. So, NeNe is on the hunt to find out who her father is. Interesting.

It does make you wonder about the timing. Did someone set this in motion in time to be filmed and aired on TV, or is this just pure coincidence. Mmmmm.

In other news, Deshawn thinks it's a realistic goal to raise $1 million in charity in one evening. I did the math. That means 500 people would have to give $2K a piece, or 2,000 people would have to give $500. Either way, I don't see that happening. We shall see; I guess.

Funny line worth mentioning: "Maybe you can hum and get a Grammy," said NeNe after first learning of Kim's aspirations to be a country singer.

Speaking of Kim, it looks like Kim's going to befriend Sheree next week. Where does that leave NeNe? Will NeNe be too wrapped up in her daddy searching to care? Will Deshawn raise all that money? Will Lisa remain the only truly sane one? What do you think?

The Hills: Has Audrina Moved On?

I want to be Brody's best friend. None of my current BFFs have private planes in which to fly me to Cabo. What am I doing wrong?

Anyway, during their getaway, Audrina and Justin have an awkward time. Apparently, Justin is upset that Audrina is dating. Audrina is upset that Justin's not her boyfriend. I understand all too well, so I'm siding with Audrina, and quoting a line from one of Beyonce's latest tunes, "If you liked it, you should have put a ring on it."

The Pratt's continued to be dysfunctional as ever. Stephanie has a boyfriend, and Heidi suggests the two couples double date. Bad idea. Stephanie and her boyfriend show up late -- 40 minutes to be exact -- and Spencer decides to retaliate by ruining everyone's evening. He's rude to his sister's date, and he suggests that Stephanie and Doug may still be seeing one another.

With family like that, who needs enemies? He didn't apologize, but why would he? He never does.

So, what do you think? Will Audrina and Justin reconcile, or is it over? Will Stephanie stop trying to be friends to her brother? Will Lauren ruin another friendship by offering too much man advice? Will Audrina ever get her scrunchie back?

Heroes: Where Have All the Good Guys Gone?

I can't speak for everyone, but there's a certain reason I enjoy superheros. In addition to their extraordinary abilities, they're on the side of good. They have high morals. You can trust them. They're salt-of-the earth people -- even those like Kalel, who's originally from Krypton.

So, that's why this season of "Heroes" is really starting to irk me. Who are the good guys? Who am I supposed to root for? Who can I trust? I know this season is about villains, but I would have preferred Peter, Mohinder and the rest be absent this season than evil.

Sigh.

With that said, I hope the family angle that results from Papa Petrelli's return distracts me from the horrifically, dark story lines.

What do you think? Is this feeling like "Superman III" to you, too?

The Real Housewives of Atlanta: Where's the Beef?

So, it seems NeNe and Sheree have gotten over the mishap at Sheree's party. The next day the two are civil and kind to one another at the party for Kim's daughter, who's 11th birthday celebration was greater than anything I've ever had in my 30-plus years, but I digress.

I'm glad the two women were able to get along, but I'm seriously doubting their beef is over. I'm sure we haven't heard the last about Sheree's party, and although NeNe is trying to be mature about things, I think it would take only one word or wrong look from Sheree to bring things to a head ... can't wait. LOL.

I could comment more on Kim's daughter's birthday, but Kim realizes her daughter is spoiled. We all witnessed the extravagance. Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. I'll leave it at that.

What do you think? Are Sheree and NeNe mature enough to never bring up the birthday party drama again? Do you have a favorite housewife yet? Weren't Lisa and her hubby cute!? How can a thousand-dollar cake NOT be good?

Making the Band: ... And Then There Were Three

In a flash, the quintet becomes a trio.

When we last saw the girls, Diddy made it clear that he no longer wanted Aubrey in Danity Kane. Viewers were left with a cliffhanger. Would Diddy change his mind?

No. Diddy did not change his mind and on top of that, D-Woods decided to leave the group, too! Later, Diddy admitted that he wouldn't have cut D-Woods from the group, but I think she was taking a stand for her friend. She and Aubrey were obviously the closest pair in the group. That might not have been the best decision on her part. However, I'm thinking D-Woods will be working towards a solo career soon.

So, where does that leave Aubrey and the rest of the girls? Shook! During the live finale show, Aundrea, Shannon and Dawn were visibly distressed. Maybe they should have had some alcohol on stage to calm the nerves. Aubrey seemed her usual self, but since she always seems to be playing to the cameras, I'm not sure her "usual self" is the real deal.

That may be exactly why Diddy eliminated her. He said she was not the girl he selected for the band years ago. Will that girl return? Who knows, but rumors of another season are swirling. So, we shall see.

Do you think Aubrey and D-Woods will return to the band? Do you want them to?

Daddy's Girls: Angela and Vanessa on Their Own

Rumor has it that Angela and Vanessa Simmons of "Run's House" fame will be getting their own TV show on MTV!

I won't be tuning in. Honestly, the girls annoy me just a little ... more so Angela than Vanessa. I wonder what the show will chronicle. Will it be about Angela as Editor-in-Chief with no degree, or will it be about Vanessa's cameos on low-rated soaps? Maybe it will be about the girls' shoe line, anchored by Uncle Russell.

I'd rather watch Lauren and Whitney hang clothes and dress models on "The Hills." I can relate more to women struggling in the workforce. We already know Vanessa and Angela can't go wrong with their family name behind them, so what's the point in tuning in?

The Hills: The Ultimatum

I sort of missed Lauren this episode, but her friends (and ex-friend Heidi) more than made up for her peripheral presence.

Audrina is playing the field and meeting some really nice guys, but it seems her heart is still with Justin Bobby. Isn't that always the way? He ruins a sultry evening with Audrina and proves that he's not just a jerk, but he's an idiot. The two are in the pool nearly naked, and he decides to assert his freedom and remind her that he's free to date other people. Ummm. OK. His timing seemed awkward to me, but I understand little about men, so whatever...

Spencer is a man few people understand. As a matter of fact, Heidi may be the only one to have unlocked that mystery, which may be why he holds on so tightly to his lady love. After weeks of living with Heidi and Holly, Spencer decides to give his girlfriend an ultimatum. Someone's leaving the house, and if it's not Holly, Spencer will oblige.

Of course, Heidi caves and basically kicks her sister out of the house. Where will homeless Holly end up? My guess is she will reach out to Lauren, but we'll see.

What did you think of Spencer's ultimatum? Was it necessary? Was Holly mooching? Do you find Spencer scary possessive of Heidi? Should Audrina make it work with JB or move on with a more attentive dude?

Heroes: Villains All Around

Which heroes are good? Which are bad? The line is becoming more and more blurred from week to week. The long list of murderous heroes is growing. Even Claire attempted to pull the trigger on Vortex Man, but she didn't have the heart.

Claire did have the heart to stand up to her father, who tried to force a man to kill Sylar. Instead, Vortex Man sacrificed himself. However, the whole troublesome event forced Claire to see her father in a different light. Will Noah ever see the humanity of those people with powers? Sylar suggests not.

Poor Mohinder. I'm not sure what he's turning into, but it conjures images of "The Fly," and I think we're finally rid of Maya ... thank goodness.

I know Hiro has the power to go back in time, so maybe that's why he failed to give a second thought before killing his BFF Ando. Will Hiro go back and undo what he did? He has to. Right?

What do you think? Will Hiro and Ando be reunited, and if so, will they be friends? What the heck is going on with Mohinder? Where has Papa Patrelli been all this time? Will Nathan turn to the dark side now that he knows his powers are divine? Will everyone from "The Wire" be making appearances this season?

I Love Money: Reunion Show

The "I Love Money" reunion show was anti-climactic. I guess I've become accustomed to chairs and weaves flying through the air, punches being thrown and security bombarding the stage. So, this reunion show was tame ... a nice change of pace.

Highlights:
1) Everyone hates Heather for playing the game the best.
2) Hoopz and Real are not getting married. Surprise! Not.
3) White Boy and the Stallionaires have reconciled.
4) Pumkin has lost weight, but still has the filthiest mouth on TV.
5) The Entertainer is STILL living at home.

That was about it. See?

ANTM: Awkward Girl Wins Awkward Challenge

On the latest episode, the ladies were taught about signature poses. It seemed like an awkward concept, since models have to have several different poses in their repertoire. However, Marjorie seemed to grasp the idea better than most, and she won the first challenge. She was also called first at elimination, and her "urinating" picture was one of the best. She makes her awkwardness work for her. Kudos!

Lauren Brie was eliminated. There's not much to say. She wasn't doing a great job, and she was cut. Sheena, who has been added to the Model Portfolio on the CW site, was in the bottom two this week. She's caught somewhere between trying not to look "hoochie" but still letting loose. We know the judges can't stand reserved or controlled (as Elina can attest to). So, will their advise backfire for Sheena? We shall see.

McKey seems to be wow-ing the judges, and they also liked Joslyn's photo this week; although, I think her week one photo was her best, but who asked me?

What do you think? Should Lauren Brie or Sheena have been sent home? Will Sheena be able to tone down the sexy? Will Marjorie's awkwardness take her to the top? What was up with Little Black Riding Hood?

Housewives of ATL: Ghetto Fabulousness

Loved it. Loved it. That was the most entertaining and authentic demonstration of ghetto fabulousness I've seen since "Being Bobby Brown."

The series premiere of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" was better than I expected. I will be tuning in next week to find out if Sheree and NeNe are going to come to blows. LOL. It seems the two had some beef from before the show aired, but Sheree invited NeNe to her birthday party -- a social event -- to bury the hatchet, sort of speak.

Instead, the hatchet got buried in NeNe's back. She was obviously excited about the party and reconciling with Sheree, but after getting prepped and primped, NeNe found herself dissed! Her name was not on the guest list, and she was not allowed into the party.

How awful!

To make things worse, Sheree didn't even come out to speak to her humiliated friend. NeNe left in a hurry, and it's obvious this feud is not over.

The most sensible, and therefore my favorite, housewife seems to be Lisa. She's happily married and seems very comfortable with herself. We'll see, though. At this point, it's too early to pledge allegiance to any character.

So, did you watch the premiere? What did you think? Will you be tuning in? Did Sheree purposely leave NeNe off the list, or was it an oversight? Will the ladies be able to patch things up? Am I the only woman not getting her makeup airbrushed on each morning?

Making the Band: Is Aubrey Out?

Did you see that coming?

Diddy sat down with the ladies of Danity Kane to discuss the future of the band. I didn't notice the tension within the group, but I did notice that Aubrey was hanging out more with D-Woods than Aundrea, who was once her BFF.

Anyway, after the girls talked about rumors, mistrust and insecurities, Diddy told them that he was ready to kick Aubrey out of the group. He said, "There will be a Danity Kane," but will it include Aubrey? That is the question.

Aubrey does seem to be marching to her own beat a lot of the times. Like when the ladies went horseback riding, she was the only one trying to be fabulous (and failing, in my opinion).

What do you think? Is Aubrey extra? Will she be let go? Will any other girls roll out with her? If she goes, should the group still be called Danity Kane? Will Diddy make her a solo artist?

I Want to Work For Diddy: Susie and Mike Win!

As the episode previews suggested, Poprah was eliminated from the show! I actually thought she might win, but maybe that saying about karma is true. The same attitude that irked her teammates, rubbed Diddy the wrong way, and he sent her packing. Funny.

Any chick that brings a jack-in-the-box to an executive meeting is not ready to work for Diddy. I think everyone realized Stephanie wasn't going to become Diddy's assistant. She was too laid back, and the fact that she tried to latch on to Boris a few weeks ago, was a red flag indeed.

The real competition was between Susie and Mike. So, Diddy's first choice was Susie. He said she was a combo of executive class and hustle. Diddy could see Mike's potential, but said he needed a bit more polishing.

In the end, Diddy chose both candidates. I wasn't a huge fan of either, but together they might get the job done.

The Hills: Spencer vs. Lauren ... Who Will Heidi Choose?

So, we could have predicted that Holly's appearance would stir up old feelings for best friends Heidi and Lauren. Holly is definitely pressing the issue, and hoping to reconcile the girls, but Lauren makes it pretty clear that Heidi's not the issue ... Spencer is.

I was a little shocked to hear Lauren put it so bluntly. It was almost like a ultimatum; however, I can see where she's coming from considering how Spencer has treated her in the past, and how he bad-mouthed her. Who wants any more of that?

I don't think anyone expects Heidi to choose ANYONE over Spencer, so I doubt a resolution is in the near future.

I'm glad Audrina's going out on dates. I think she can do better than JB.

What do you think?

Heroes: Peter Sucks at Saving the World

OK. So, this wasn't the best episode to try to watch while cleaning my room. I blame myself. I know better. You must be fully focused on a "Heroes" episode. I'm no novice. I'm aware of this.

Anyway, half way through the show I really wasn't sure if I was watching the present or the future. Parkman seemed to be in the future, but he wasn't. He was dreaming. The Peters were in the future, and then one Peter was with present Sylar after killing future Gabrielle and future Nathan. There was no present Claire, but there was a Tracy flying through the air, and I'm not sure if she was present, future or past participle, but either way, her new powers are eons better than Jessica/Nikki's powers.

What I did catch was that the Peters are doing a terrible job trying to save the world. If anything, they're accelerating the planet's inevitable demise. Why Peter thought having Sylar's power would be an asset, I don't know, but Sylar did warn him that a hunger comes along with his ability, and Peter might be one of the villains this season. Who would've thunk it?

How will Parkman end up with the Speed chick? Why does "evil" Claire have dark hair? Aren't we tired of this imagery yet? Why is future Mohinder so scary? Who was the mother of Gabrielle/Sylar's son? Are Tracy and Nathan going to break up his marriage? Is there anyone on the show who doesn't paint the future?

Hey. I guess I paid more attention than I thought.

The Real Housewives of ATL Coming Soon

I haven't watched any of the previous "Housewives" seasons on Bravo, but I plan to tune into the premiere of the Atlanta season tomorrow. I've seen the preview episode in which the ladies were introduced. It seems like there will be a lot of drama and a lot to blog about.
Stay tuned.

I Love Money Finale: Anti-Climactic

Ok. So, Hoopz won the $250K, and everyone's happy for her, including White Boy, who was ahead of her during most of their finale race, but couldn't remember the order in which the other contestants had been eliminated. So, basically their memories decided the ultimate winner.

It was about half way into their race that I realized I really didn't care who won. I think it would have been a more dramatic finale if Megan hadn't quit before the jury had a chance to tear into her. I totally get it, though. Why have people stand in front of you and call you names and possibly even spit on you and then kick you off the show? Megan took her fate into her own hands and did without the snake/rat "Survivor" moment.

BTW, did I miss her or was Brandi C. mysteriously absent from the Jury? Mmmm.

There's a reunion show next week that's sure to make up for the drama we missed this time around.

Crash: The TV Series

I just watched an online preview of Starz's new drama "Crash," based off the popular film from a few years back. I don't recall all the intricacies of the movie, but this TV version has the same look and feel. The first episode was interesting, and I'd probably tune in regularly, except I don't have Starz.

The series seems like something you'd see on HBO and not just because of the nudity. It's for mature audiences -- not porn or anything, but be advised.

If the series ever is ever available on DVD, I may rent it for a weekend.

Real Chance of Love

If nothing else, you've GOT to give VH1 props for dripping every last drop out of a TV franchise that they possibly can. I'm almost impressed.
First there was just "Surreal Life," then "Strange Love," then "Flavor of Love," and the list goes on and on. The newest spin-off will star none other than Chance and Real of "I Love New York" and "I Love Money" fame. They'll get their chance for love and date 15 beauties.
LOL. Just the idea of more of the "Stallionaires" tickles me. Will I tune in? I'm ashamed to say I will. Who could miss it? Maybe Real will propose again. I'm sure he still has the ring he offered to Hoopz. I wish him better luck this time, and I hope Chance ... well, there's no hope for him, which makes him sooo funny. LOL. Who are these chicks that want to date these dudes? I've gotta watch.
Will you?

ANTM: It's Not So Hard to Say Good-bye

Season after season the formula has pretty much been the same. When it's a contestant's time to go, the episode focuses on that girl who will ultimately be in the bottom two at the end. So, I naturally thought either Joslyn or Marjorie would be on the chopping block.

Low and behold! I think the producers have decided not to make it so easy for us.

Despite Marjorie's continued awkwardness and Joslyn's alleged decline, Clark was the girl that got sent home. Personally, Marjorie's whining was so annoying, I was hoping she'd get the axe. She does take a nice picture, though.

I definitely agreed with the judges that Clark seemed much more interested in showing off her legs than she did with taking a decent photo. All in all, she won't be missed.

I also agreed that Samantha's tidal wave photo was the best, and I love her haircut.

So, what did you think? Is Joslyn's performance slipping? Is Marjorie really insecure, or is it a ploy for sympathy? Should Clark have been eliminated? Why isn't Sheena's picture in the Model Portfolio on the CW site?

I Want to Work for Diddy: Poprah Fired?!

Did Poprah get herself eliminated!? That was by far the most entertaining hour of Diddy I've seen since Fred and Ness went at it back in the 1st season of "MTB!"

So, the final four are tasked with organizing a party for a new Bad Boy artist. They're a mess. They're obviously nervous, anxious and I had butterflies in my stomach just watching them. Poprah and Mike had a small advantage over the other two just because Diddy remembered their names. That wasn't much to go on.

Anyway, Poprah's one task was to finalize the guest list for the event. Oh, and she also had to walk Diddy's dog. LOL. The others went running with him, so Poprah got off a little easy there. Anyway, hours later when Diddy requests the final list ... again, Poprah still doesn't have it, and instead of answering his yes-or-no question, she gets a bit of an attitude -- despite her calling him "sir," and he lets her know, "You're not ready to work for Diddy."

Of course, that's when the episode ends. Good ol' cliffhangers ... gotta love 'em. LOL.

So, do you think Poprah's really gone for good? It seems hard to believe. Honestly, she seems like the most qualified of the group. That's not saying too much for Mike, Susan and "What's your name?"

The Hills: The Problem With the Pratts

What the heck is wrong with Spencer? He's a bit more welcoming to Heidi's mother than he was to her sister, but he still has that plastered on I-really-wish-you-weren't-here smile on his face. It turns out that Heidi's mom didn't even know her daughter had reconciled with Spencer. So mom decides it's a good idea to have a one-on-one lunch with Spencer. Why anyone would want to do that to themselves is beyond me.

In the end, Heidi's mom is so bothered by Spencer and his "control" over Heidi that she breaks down into tears. If that doesn't nudge you, what will?

Speaking of Pratts, Stephanie learned a harsh lesson. She went behind LC's back to date Doug, who threw her under the bus the first chance he got. I haven't seen such betrayal since ... last week! So, she ends up in tears, and LC supports her as much as she can without thinking, "That's what you get."

Will these two be able to salvage a friendship? Is Doug in the wrong, or is he excused because he's a guy? Will Heidi's mom's reaction to Spencer open her eyes? What do you think?

Heroes: A Thirst for Revenge

OK. So, cheerleader Claire is out for blood. That doesn't even sound right. LOL. She's pissed that uncle Sylar opened up her brain and poked around. I'd probably be upset about that, too, but unlike Claire, I would not be able to exact revenge. So, she's the rogue teenager now having escaped from two moms. When will she catch up with her four-eyed dad and his new partner? That is the question.

Speaking of Sylar, it was almost scarier seeing him as a nice guy than it's been seeing him play the villain. He did save Noah, but he killed a guy with a really loud voice. I think we're in for more spooky kindness from Sylar next week.

Are Nikki and Jessica really gone? I'm confused. Where did Peter take Peter? What's the deal with Parkman? Does anybody care? Will Hero's mistrust of Ando actually bring about the betrayal Hero witnessed in the future? I'm thinking so. What do you think?

Desperate Housewives: Quantum Leap Season Premiere

The "Desperate Housewives" season premiere was full of surprises ... the biggest being that the storylines had jumped about four or five years! I'm still unsure how I feel about that . . . Anyway, the new news includes:

  • Gabby has two kids now (One who's very overweight.), and isn't quite as glamorous as we remember.
  • Susan and Mike have split.
  • Edie's back with a new husband, who's a bit controlling and has a past.
  • Bree is back with Orson. Her daughter now has custody of Bree's grandson, and her catering company is her "baby."
  • Lynette's boys are old enough to drive!

I think Edie's new husband will bring some great drama, and I am actually interested to see what happens to Susan and Mike. I never thought I'd say that. The ladies all seem in a bit of a funk right now. Hopefully, things will improve as the season progresses?

What do you think? Were you OK with the acceleration of the characters?

Making the Band IV: Dawn and Q

I happened to catch the latest episode of "MTB," and I had to comment on the whole Dawn and Q relationship! How cute -- in a syrupy sweet, diabetic coma way -- is that courtship! The two are inseparable, and I don't remember the last time I've seen a guy so whooped.

He's yelling his love for her from the mountaintops. He serenades her with Commodore classics, and draws her bubble baths. He drops the L-word as often as other guys scratch themselves, and he reserved a hotel room for her and spread rose petals everywhere.

Ummmm. I don't know whether to be impressed or to feel sorry for the guy.

How about you? What do you think of their on-camera romance? Is it real or contrived? Is Q, at 19, too young to really know what love is? Will there be a spin-off show featuring the two lovebirds? My bet is yes!

ANTM: Isis Bites the Dust

I guess it was only a matter of time. As a matter of fact, I called it last week. Isis is gone. Our transgendered friend has been eliminated. I didn't think she'd win the grand prize, but I did think she'd last a few weeks longer.

The judges said she was trying too hard to fit in and faded into the crowd. I think those hormones she takes make her feel bad. As soon as she injected herself, a few episodes back, her performance has been lackluster. Maybe she needs a new prescription.

So, the elimination trend continues. Another woman of color has been booted off! What's going on?! I hear there are rumors of an all-Black season of ANTM. I doubt it, but at least the elimination of the sistahs wouldn't be so obvious!

Heroes: Season Premiere

The premiere of "Heroes" was not a disappointment. After a pitiful season two cut short by the writers' strike, this premiere was a test to see whether fans could be pulled back into the lives of Hero, Peter, Claire and the rest of the gang.

I think I'll be tuning in ... as usual.

The Top 10 moments of the premiere:

1. Sylar is a Petrelli ... or at least a half brother of Peter and Nathan.
2. Sylar finally has Claire's powers. Tsk. Tsk. Tsk.
3. Ando will kill Hero in the future. (That seems unlikely.)
4. Mohinder develops a power (and a sex drive).
5. Mohinder and Maya hook up.
6. Tracy (AKA: Jessica and Nikki) has a new name and new freezing power. Thank goodness!
7 Peter is trapped in the body of a villain ... thanks to Peter.
8. The villains have escaped and are wreaking havoc.
9. Mama Petrelli has vivid dreams. That's a power.
10. There's a new really, really fast girl on the show.

What did you think of the season premiere? Did it pull you in? What the hell's going on with Mohinder's skin? What do you think of Tracy/Jessica/Nikki's new power? Would you try Mohinder's syrum?
